Our Urinary System is comprised of the kidneys, bladder, ureters and urethra, passes the blood through a filtration process so the body can maintain a clean supply of fluids. The urinary system is responsible for maintaining the important sodium-potassium balance in and around our cells necessary for a high level of healthy energy.
Routine use of Uri.Sys. Ass't supports thorough urinary tract cleansing and improved kidney and bladder performance. Uri.Sys. Ass't is a kidney activator formula that nutritionally supports our bodys urinary system, specifically kidney, bladder and urinary tract health.
Cranberry extract (vaccinium macrocarpon) Cranberry is a plant that makes a delicious food and beverage. But it also has well-known medicinal properties. Cranberry is known to acidify the urine, which helps to keep the bladder healthy and free from unwanted microbes. Cranberry also has the ability to block bacteria from adhering to the bladder wall, allowing harmful bacteria to be flushed out in the urine. These properties help to keep the bladder clean and healthy.
Ornithine Alpha-ketoglutaric Acid Assists removal of ammonia from central nervous system. Alpha-ketoglutaric (AKG) is an organic acid that is important for the proper metabolism of all essential amino acids and the transfer of cellular energy in the citric acid cycle. It is a precursor to glutamic acid, the non-essential amino acid involved in protein synthesis and the regulation of blood glucose levels.
Elecampane root extract (Inula helenium) Elecampane has antibacterial properties are focused on the urinary tract and it is excreted through both the kidneys and the lungs.
Rupturewort leaf extract (Herniaria glabra) Rupturewort used in traditional medicine to treat urinary tract disorders, fluid accumulation around the heart and hernias (ruptures). Rupturewort has been employed in the treatment of urinary tract (cystitis), kidney and gall bladder inflammations. Rupturewort is said to be useful in the prevention and elimination of kidney and bladder stones and to strengthen muscle tissues.
IP-6 (Inositol hexaphosphate) IP-6, also known as phytate is found naturally within every body cell. IP-6 (Inositol Hexaphosphate) is a naturally occurring compound found primarily in grains and legumes. Related to the B vitamin inositol, IP6 differs by the presence of six phosphate groups, influencing various cellular mechanisms. The health benefits of a diet high in fiber seem to be due to the high levels of IP-6 in the fiber. IP6 is combined in a four-to-one ratio with inositol (a member of the B-vitamin group), which helps Inositol hexaphosphate (IP6) to create IP3 more efficiently. IP-6 has been shown to inhibit kidney stone formation, improve cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and aiding sugar metabolism in diabetes. IP-6 is an effective antioxidant. IP-6 acts to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals on body cells and has been shown to enhance immunity by boosting the activity of natural killer (NK) cells. Inositol hexaphosphate (IP-6) may prevent the formation of kidney stones.
Uva Ursi leaf (Arctostaphylos uva ursi) Uva Ursi (aka Bearberry ) Native Americans used it as a remedy for urinary tract infections; in fact, until the discovery of sulfa drugs and antibiotics, uva ursi was the treatment of choice for such bladder and related infections. Modern scientific research in test tubes and animals confirm uva ursi's antimicrobial properties, which can fight infection, and diuretic effects have been demonstrated.
Couch Grass Extract (Agropyron repens) Couch grass is diuretic, demulcent and a kidney cleanse tonic for kidney gravel or kidney stone treatment. Lessens pain and inflammation associated with infection and urinating frequently.
Corn Silk Extract (Zea mays) Cornsilk Contains silicon, B Vitamins, PABA and moderate amounts of iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium and calcium. Corn silk is traditionally used for the urinary tract. Corn silk is used for occasional bladder complaints, as Corn silk has a cleansing effect. Corn silk is is rich in mucilage and soothes tissue.
Indole-3-Carbinol (brassica olereca) Indole-3-Carbinol Indole-3-carbinol (I3C), naturally found in vegetables including broccoli, brussels sprouts, bok choy, cauliflower, kale and cabbage. Indole-3-carbinol induces phase I and phase II liver detoxification enzymes. These commonly consumed cruciferous vegetables are good sources of glucobrassicin which is the glucosinolate precursor of I3C.
L-Carnosine L-carnosine, or "carnosine" is an amino acid dipeptidemade up of histidine and beta-alanine. Carnosine naturally occurs in the brain, heart, muscles, and skin in high concentrations. Carnosine helps the kidneys respond properly to the demands of stress, which supports healthy leptin function in the circulation
Pumpkin seed extract Pumpkin seeds are a very good source of essential fatty acids, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Pumpkin Seed promotes bladder and urinary health.
Juniper Berry extract Juniper Berries contains phytonutrients that support urinary water control, supports the kidneys filtration process, supports the body's immune-specific processes. Juniper Berry is thought to be an effective diuretic and antiseptic that promotes the flow of urine, and helps support the body's fight against infection of the urinary tract. As a diuretic, the kidneys and bladder are stimulated to get rid of retained and excess water. Juniper supports the filtering of waste products by the kidneys. Juniper Berry is thought to dissolve kidney stones. Juniper Berry has been said to help prevent the crystallization of uric acid in the kidneys, retaining it in a solution and passing it in the urine.
Quercetin The polyphenol quercetin is a plant-derived flavanoid. The bioflavonoid quercetin is a renoprotective natural antioxidant. In many experimental studies on both animals and humans, quercetin has been found to protect kidney tissues against age-related insult. NF-kB activity in the kidneys increases with age and leads to increased oxidative stress. Researchers tested the effect of quercetin on the activation of NF-kB in cultured rat kidney cells. The cells were proximal tubular cells (PTC's), which play a pivotal role in progressive kidney diseases by regulating the accumulation of macrophages. They found that quercetin potently inhibited NF-kB activation in PTC. Since NF-kB regulates inflammatory signaling and adhesion molecules in PTC, these findings help explain other findings that preventive administration of quercetin, inhibited tubular injury and the upregulation of inflammatory cytokines in the renal cortex.
Magnesium (Glycinate Chelate) Magnesium ÂMagnesium glycinate is a, better tolerated and more absorbable, chelated form of the mineral magnesium (Mg). The element magnesium is an essential mineral involved in over 350 biochemical actions in the body. Magnesium is a vital mineral, that is effective in preventing the formation of kidney stones.
Benfotiamine Benfotiamine is a highly bioavailable derivative of thiamine (Vitamin B-1)., as an active coenzyme - fat-soluble form of the B-complex vitamin thiamin. Benfotiamine is an allithiamine, a unique class of thiamin-derived compounds present in trace quantities in roasted crushed garlic and other vegetables from the Allium genus (such as onions, shallots, and leeks). BenfotiamineÂs open-ringed structure makes it able to pass directly through cell membranes, readily crossing the intestinal wall and being taken straight into the cell. Benfotiamine reduces in the leakage of protein. Benfotiamine is used for the promotion of endothelial cell health in the kidneys. Benfotiamine provides kidney support by moderating protein kinase C activity, oxidative stress and dicarbonyl formation, actions which help maintain a healthy glycation end product activity.
L-Ornithine Ornithine is an nonessential amino acid, not coded for by DNA and is not involved in protein synthesis, that can be rapidly interconverted with arginine. L-Ornithine is a nonprotein amino acid important in the formation of urea. Ornithine is the substrate for L-Ornithine:2-oxoacid aminotransferase (OAT), a mitochondrial enzyme present in liver, kidney, and brain. Ornithine is one of the products of the action of the enzyme arginase on L-arginine, creating urea (urea cycle), which allows for the disposal of excess nitrogen. The non-hepatic body tissues use of the urea cycle is in arginine biosynthesis as an intermediate in metabolic processes.
Shavegrass (Equisetum arvense) As a mild diuretic, Shavegrass has been used to promote urination and helps to relieve kidney and gallbladder disorders. Historically, Shavegrass has been used to treat urinary disorders, gout and digestive disorders. Since the Roman physician Galen first recommended it, many cultures have used Shavegrass as a folk remedy for kidney and bladder troubles. Shavegrass helps alleviate painful urination.
