Crohn's Disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in which areas of the intestinal tract become inflamed causing sloughing and, in some instances, ulcers. While many other IBDs cause inflammation of the intestinal lining, Crohn's affects all layers of the intestine, not just the surface. The most common symptoms include diarrhea and intense stomach pain. Rectal bleeding, weight loss, and fever may also occur. Bleeding may be serious and persistent, leading to anemia. Children with Crohn's disease may suffer delayed development and stunted growth.

Although usually affecting the portion of the small intestine known as the ileum the condition is not limited solely to the small intestine and can affect any area of the digestive tract, from the mouth to the anus. Severity varies-only a small area of intestine is affected in some people, while others suffer from widespread intestinal inflammation.

The causes of Crohn's Disease remain a mystery, but many researchers believe that the disease is triggered by a faulty immune system. Either the immune system responds too aggressively to bacteria in the intestine, or it may even perceive normal food and intestinal contents as a threat. This results in inflammation and the sudden emptying of the intestines.

British research team at St. George's Hospital Medical School in London, have discovered that 92 percent of Crohn's disease patients harbor the bacterium Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis (MAP) in their intestinal tissues. Only 26 percent of patients without Crohn's Disease have MAP. This implicates the bacterium as a cause of Crohn's Disease inflammation. MAP (the same bacterium that causes Johne's Disease in cattle) is a contaminant of unpasteurized milk and dairy products.

The immune system is a body wide network of cells and organs that has evolved to defend the body against attacks by foreign entities such as bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses.

I just had to say that I did experience some cleansing the first three days, with loose stool in the morning. I have been regular and healthy each morning since. That is a miracle in itself, as I am used to multiple bouts of diarrhea for over 13 years. Sometimes as many as 12 bouts every half an hour, which disrupted my sleep for over 13 years, and left me weak, dehydrated and unable to process any of the food I was eating. I can now get back into school and get back to working, and get myself self sufficient and not dependent on SSI disability for my income. It has been a nightmare for the past 13 years and I left a trail of educational goals I completed but could not hold any employment for more than six to nine months during all of that time. I cannot find any more words to thank you and everyone there. Finally something that is working with my body for it's healing instead of against it.

Just a note to let you know how I am doing. I do a lot for my health, Tai Chi each day, meditation, good diet, etc, but the Mesosilver really put a lot of things in my body back into balance. I have gained 5 pounds and continue to have no pain from the gout and diabetic neuropathy. I still have surface nerve damage and numbness from the knee down in both legs, but no shooting pain nor sharp pain in my feet or legs anymore. I am digesting food properly and can even digest meat again, in small amounts. I still eat small meals and only when I am hungry, but I have less bloating in the stomach and less pain in the digestion process. I plan on ordering more Mesosilver in July and hope to get back to school and then work by August or September. "I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease about 16 or 17 years ago. Since that time I have taken all kinds of medications, which mostly just caused further damage and didn't really help. The Prednisone I was taking gave me osteoporosis, which I was never even warned about; and no doctor ever encouraged me to take vitamins or calcium.

I had surgery back in 2000 which removed about 8-10 inches of my lower intestine; it took me about eight months to recover from that surgery. Even with all the meds and the surgery, I still suffered from the symptoms of Crohn's; I was tired all the time, eating was a big problem, and I had severe bouts of intestinal pain - almost like labor pains.
